David received his B.A., Cum Laude, with a major in French, from Louisiana State University in 1988, where he was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. David received his J.D., Magna Cum Laude, From Tulane Law School in 1991. While attending Tulane Law School, David was a member of the Order of the Coif and was an Editor of the Tulane Law Review. David was admitted to the Louisiana Bar in 1991 and has also been admitted to practice before all federal courts in Louisiana, including the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and The United States Supreme Court.
In 1998, David was invited to join the adjunct faculty at Tulane Law School, where he currently serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor of Trial Advocacy.
